SNS Foundation was established on March 15, 1976 by Anand Automotive Systems, a leading manufacturer of automotive components and systems in India. Named after Sant Nischal Singhji, an educational reformer, philosopher and spiritual leader, it was his ideals and principles as well as his thoughts on women's empowerment that inspired SNSF's founders to move forward with their work of community development.
The Foundation is engaged in community development programmes at various locations around India where Anand Automotive Systems has its manufacturing units. Adapting field-tested programmes to all locations, the Foundation works through its Community Development Centers (CDCs) on integrated rural development programmes including sustainable livelihood, education, health and natural resource management.
The community development projects of SNS Foundation are co-funded by various national and international agencies, corporate partners and Central and State Governments.
