PROFILE |
SNS Foundation
was established in 1976 by the Anand Group of
Industries (the leading manufacturers of automotive
parts in India). The Foundation is engaged in
community development programs in all the locations
in India where Anand Group has its manufacturing
unit (see attached map showing manufacturing locations
of Anand Group). The primary objective of SNS
Foundation is to take rights-approach as integral
to all programs addressed at children, women and
their families and to reach the underprivileged.
Field tested programs are adapted in all locations,
focusing on health and education (academic and
vocational) programs and progressing towards including
sustainable livelihood and natural resource management
and social justice through governance. |
The Foundation
has initiated its work of community development
through these Community Development Centers (CDCs)
located in 8 locations around the country, namely |
•Gurgaon in Haryana •
Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh • Mulund
near Mumbai • Nashik and Chakan (Pune)
in Maharashtra • Hosur in Tamil Nadu
• Hubli in Karnataka • Chennai
in Tamil Nadu
The community development projects
of SNS Foundation are co-funded by various national
and international non governmental agencies and
by Central and State Governments.

SNS Foundation
is advance a rights-centered approach to its work
for children and women in communities residing
in rural and urban India, in the sectors of "Education
For All" and "Reproductive & Child
Health", sustainable livelihood and natural
resource management. Mobilising support of individuals,
groups, corporate bodies and business houses,
national, transnational and international agencies
is a cross-cutting strategy for implementing all
