Creche Programme For Migrant Population
The crèche programme is operational in 10 slum areas of Nasik, Maharashtra, among the migrant population. Each crèche covers 25 children, between the age of 1 to 4 years. The Foundation's Nasik branch has ensured that the crèche facilities are made available to children belonging to very poor families. Through these crèches, the Foundation is reaching out to 250 children each year. The major services provided in these centers are- Education, health check-ups and daily nutrition to children. |
Pre Nursery & Nursery Centre
The Foundation's, Nashik branch has been running pre nursery and nursery centre for the neighborhood children. The 30 students attending these classes come from middle income group families. As this is an income generating initiative, a fee of Rs. 250/- per child per month is charged from the students. The funds generated through this initiative helps the Nasik, branch to sustain other community development activities. Another program is being implemented by Parwanoo branch, Himachal Pradesh. This year 45 children (age group 3to 5 years) from all slums of Parwanoo were given education through play way method along with midday meals and heath check ups.
Project Quest
Project QUEST is an acronym for Quality Science Education & Teachers’ Training, a four year old project, it was launched in 2006 at Gurgaon and Bangalore. It is a partnership between Agilent Technologies and the SNS Foundation. The main objectives of the project are to

create access to improved science teaching- learning in schools (government/government –aided), for students coming from economically challenged families.

Education Resource Development Resource
The Foundation initiated the setting up of an 'Education Resource Development centre at Gurgaon to strengthen the Educational programme of the Foundation specially the ongoing “Education for All” Programme. The major activities undertaken by this center were capacity building of teachers on teaching methodologies, developing user friendly teaching aids and counseling skills, training for coordinators, special need based workshops for children, developing a resource bank on innovative Teaching Learning Materials (TLM), collation of reference books, tools and materials for co-scholastic activities and organizing exposure visit to other agencies. Twenty teachers were trained in multi-grade teaching, developing of cost effective TLM and lesson plan.
Comprehensive Project On Health And Education In Government Senior Secondary School, Sarhaul
Gurgaon
In partnership with 'GE Volunteer Foundation', SNS Foundation is implementing a comprehensive project on education, health, life skill education and environment education. The Foundation proposes to reach out to 1000 students through this initiative. Students participated in activities like developing clean and green school environment by planting trees and participating in cleanliness drive.
