SNS Foundation and its partner organization, Welfare Centre for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment observed the World Youth Skills Day in Gurgaon, Jul 15, 2016

In 2015, United Nations designated July 15 as World Youth Skills Day. The United Nations General Assembly designated the international day in order to raise awareness about the importance of investing in youth skills development. This year was the first year when this occasion was celebrated worldwide.


SNS Foundation and its partner organization, Welfare Centre for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment, Gurgaon observed this international occasion on Wednesday, July 13th at the latter’s premises. The event was graced by Gurgaon’s top most administrative official, Dr. Suresh, IAS, Commissioner , Gurgaon. The event strove to recognize and felicitate the skill development efforts being undertaken by other corporate houses and NGOs for the speech and hearing impaired youth of the centre.


In addition to SNS Foundation, which trains the youth in Packaging and Inspection Skills, there was E-Meditek TPA Services Limited which provided 10 deaf youth with offer letters after training 21. These youth are engaged in E-Meditek to carry out processing of various insurance claims.


The chief guest on the occasion, Dr. Suresh, Commissioner, Gurgaon and HR Managers from Anand, Gurgaon Hub gave away course completion certificates to 8 students trained by SNS Foundation, all of whom have fetched employment.


Under the CSR mandate of group companies, Chang Yun India and Spicer India SNS Foundation has invested in renovating and re-equipping the ITI attached to the Centre mentioned above, which delivers courses in Welding and Fitter.
