Vocational Educational Programme For Adolescent Girls

SNS Foundation has been providing opportunity on sustainable livelihood through various vocational development skills programs to the underprivileged section of society at very affordable price in Gurgaon and other locations throughout India. This is a complimentary program for those students who got their primary and middle school education from SNS Foundation. These students have been provided vocation training in computers, cutting tailoring & dress designing, fashion designing, beauty culture, nursery teacher training, jewellery making, personality development and life skills education from SNS Foundation's various vocational education centers. The ultimate aim of the Foundation to provide equal opportunities to those sections of society, who are otherwise deprived due to non availability of affordable resources or lack of proper knowledge.

In 2007-08 SNS Foundation forged a partnership with Jain Community in its efforts to provide equal opportunity to the women in and around Gurgaon, by starting a exclusive women polytechnic in the name of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami. The Polytechnic is providing quality vocational education to the rural and urban adolescent girls and women of Gurgaon in a religious and secured environment. Parents and guardian of these girls fell safe by sending their children to these centers. 425 girl candidates have successfully passed out from these centers in the reporting year and another 350 candidates are currently enrolled in different vocational training programs. Most of the pass out candidates are well placed or have become successful entrepreneur. This is a small step taken by the SNSF towards women's empowerment and fight for their right.
